The Golden Trail

When the Hart Group says it has cracked a map to the Saint Aurelia War Vault, Evelyn Hart steps out of the socialite circuit and into a race among three powerful families. She brings in Wyatt Cross, a gunslinger known as Deadeye who disappeared five years ago, on a million-a-month bodyguard deal. Ambushes and traps meet them at every turn, and he answers with Russian roulette, a slingshot and shots that should not land. What starts as a business arrangement hardens into a life-or-death bond. Wyatt's past surfaces as part of the original Operation Midas, and the hunt pulls in rival lords Silas and Adrian and crime queen Chizuru Jingu. Evelyn stops being the heiress who hired a gun and becomes a player in her own right, testing her wits against everyone closing in on the trail.
